Care Guide

Each piece of jewellery is made to last when cared for properly.

Protect your jewellery from hard knocks and scratches by not wearing it when exercising or cleaning.  Avoid spas and pools whose chemicals can affect silvers finish. Avoid contact with perfumes and moisturisers.

Stones other than diamonds, sapphire and ruby can be prone to wear and should not treated as indestructible, everyday wear can impact them.  Opals and pearls are more susceptible to wear.  Emeralds are sensitive to temperature.

To clean your jewellery simply use a polishing cloth made specifically for jewellery.  Or for a more thorough clean, soak the piece in a cup of warm water with dishwashing liquid then use an old soft bristled toothbrush to work out the gunk (a worn head with an electric toothbrush is best).

You can also take you item to a jeweller (including me) where professional tools such as ultrasonics and polishing mops can make a real difference. And they can also check for critical wear and loose stones.

And finally store it somewhere safe and dry away from sunlight hindering the oxidisation process in sterling silver and the fading of some gemstones.
