Dragonfly

I originally made this piece to challenge myself, as I had seen many amazing jewellers make dragonflies.   It has several detailed components.  Filigree wings with gold wire, shaded resin and tipped with diamonds.  A fancy cut Citrine as the thorax.  A tail made from tube and wire ending in a gold stinger.  Legs filed from wire.  A head housing bulging ruby.  And finally, a pin to attach it so that it cannot fly away.

The bright warm sunny colours make it feel lively and by added as much realism as possible, this piece definitely stands out.
